The album launch at the Third Door last night was a huge success, a big thank you to everyone who made it along to see us
and Ego Ergo Aggro for putting on a great show. Extra thanks go to Steve Kettley and the Click Clack Club for having us,
and also to Pete Furniss for joining us on stage and jamming out a couple of numbers at the end.
Our next gig is next year at Edinburgh's Jazz Bar on the 9th January, we hope to see some of you there.

It's been a long time since our last update, we're sure that you have been missing us. In our time away
we have finished recording our new as-yet-untitled album which is about to enter the mixing stages. The plan is
to have the album launch on the 22nd November with the Click Clack Club at the Third Door, Edinburgh. Watch
this space for more details.

It has been a busy past few weeks for us. Lots of rehearsals in
anticipation for gigs at Edinburgh's Jazz Bar and Manchester's hip haunt Matt &
Phreds, and lots of mental preparation for the van journey together. Conversation topics were scraping the ground beneath the barrel
from the get-go, but both nights were a resounding success and we got some suberb fashion
tips from Gok Wan on the radio on the way to Manchester.
A welcome offshoot of having to play long sets and intensive rehearsing means that we are one step closer
to recording our next album. January, look out.

We had a fantastic time last night performing at the Bosco Theatre as part of the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues
Festival 2011. If only every night could be spent with such great people in a buzzing atmosphere like it was. We
want to say a big thank you to Haftor Medboe for
the opportunity, and Pete Furniss (happy birthday!) for sharing the stage with us
for two tunes. Hopefully Pete will be guesting with us again in the near future, and there is talk of him
appearing on our upcoming album so watch this space.
In other news, you may or may not have noticed that the website has a new look, and there is new
ear and eye candy on each page so get exploring in haste!
P.S Thanks to BondBloke for the above photo!

Our appearance at this years Edinburgh Jazz Festival is nigh, on Wednesday evening (the 27th)
to be precise. Last minute rehearsals have commenced, and we have cemented our plans to have an extra
special guest play alongside us for one or two pieces. It is not too late to purchase tickets
online.
We also had fun this month playing with NYC african jazz singer Somi
at the TED Global 2011 conference in Edinburgh. It will be appearing on the TED Fellows website
sometime in the near future; The Discordian Trio in HD like you have never seen us before.
Last but not least, a massive happy birthday goes out to Craig. Craig also shares his birthday with
Louise Brown, the world's first test tube baby.
Happy birthday to them both!

In other news, our album "The Discordian Trio Presents The Discordian Trio" will be available to purchase

This Monday evening (16th May) Jazz On 3 (BBC Radio 3) will be playing some live recordings
from our recent appearance at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival. It will be available on iplayer for
the remainder of the week if you miss it.
We also got some new photos taken this week by the wonderful Edi Pyczek (check out more of her work
here). We have been meaning to
get some quality photographs of ourselves for a while now, and where better to get these done than an
urban farm in the middle of one of Edinburgh's least desirable areas. They can be found on
the media page soon!

We have safely returned from our appearance at this years Cheltenham Jazz Festival! The 3
of us had a fantastic time performing, and also enjoyed seeing some very inspiring music being
played. We just want to say a big thank you to everyone at Jazz On 3 for having us, and
lets not forget Steve at the Big Sleep Hotel for looking a heck of a lot like Martin Clunes.
